HELLO, IF YOU HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM I DO, THEN LISTEN UP. I THREW AWAY THE BOX THAT THE PHONE CAME IN, SO I DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO GO BY. I SAW A REVIEW ON HERE BY A LADY THAT SAID THAT IF YOU LEFT A VERY SMALL PIECE OF THE PLASTIC FROM THE ORIGINAL BOX IN THE LITTLE TINY SLIT IN THE TOP RIGHT HAND SIDE ON THE BACK OF THE PHONE, THEN IT WOULD STAY LOUD, BUT I DIDN'T HAVE A BOX!!! SO I TOOK A BREAD TIE, AND STUCK IT IN THE BACK OF THE PHONE, WHERE THE LITTLE SLIT IS. I CUT IT SO THAT JUST A LITTLE WAS HANgING OUT, AND FOLDED IT DOWN SO IT WOULD LAY FLAT ON THE PHONE, AND TAPED IT..NOW IT WORKS PERFECT!!!!!!!!!! SO, ANYONE WHO EATS BREAD CAN FIX THIS PROBLEM..LOL..I HOPE I'VE HELPED, ... |
My Daughter Loves It!

I bought this phone for my daughter when she was only a few months old. Her fine motor skills were very advanced and she absolutely LOVED pressing the buttons and hearing the sounds. About the low sound problem, I just stuck a piece of heavy paper in the slot and taped it there (or you could leave the plastic strip in, cut it shorter and tape it). The package does tell you that if you remove the plastic strip, the sound will decrease for safety reasons. But, my daughter has other loud toys and she doesn't seem to be bothered by the phone (it's not THAT loud). I don't think it's unsafe. If your child loves to be entertained by pushing small buttons, this is the phone to get. But, BEWARE, you will be singing, "La, la, la, la. La, la, la, la, Elmo's World" all the time! Oh, and you'll be saying, "Thanks for calling" all the time too. It's great fun for the kids though! Educational value: well they learn the numbers on the phone. It's a great tool for developing fine motor skills. In terms of durability, my daughter has dropped this phone on the hard floor lots of times and it's still as good as new. Even I'm surprised that it's still in one piece. |

| We bought this toy at the store and, as others, were totally in love with it. We brought it home and, oops, there goes the volume! We've been depressed about it for a month until today! I read the reviews and saw the solution! I took a calling card, cut a thin, long piece out, shoved it back into the hole and, VOILA! WE HAVE VOLUME! I didn't even have to cut it flush, I just shoved it in until it was even! I'm SO happy now, and can't wait to show hubby that I fixed the Elmo toy! See, your Amazon reviews DO come in handy! |

| My father in law bought this phone for my daughter about two months ago. At the time she was ten months and I couldn't believe her reaction! My husband and I bought her more than her fair share of play cell phones and even an old cell phone of ours but she still wasn't too thrilled. When she saw this phone she loved the music and actually sat still for awhile and pushed the different buttons to see what they did. Oh the only bad part about this phone was that after you take out the little plastic strip they want you to take out the phone's volume instantly goes down. However, my husband took the phone apart and put a piece of paper clip where the plastic strip was and the volume went back to normal. Other than that...perfect! |

| I bought this phone for my 22 month old daughter for Christmas and it was her favorite gift of all. Forget all those super expensive gifts she got, The Elmo Phone was a big hit!! I paid around $5.99 for the one I bought from a department store sale. But even $9.99 is a great deal for this phone! I highly recommend this phone for any elmo lover or phone lover! |
