Spring is always a weird time.. Technically its still winter, but with the anticipation of summer. So, in a way its neither here nor there, resulting in a subdued fashion sense that is waiting to bloom into full
blown summer wear. This year is no different and the following is a quick guide to what to wear this spring of 2006. The look this year is such that you can probably find everything you need right in your wardrobe, with the exception of a few things. Its a matter of knowing how to put it all together.

The Look: Subdued Bohemian, layered, sporty. Think shabby chic, putting together a variety of eclectic pieces together.

The Wardrobe:

Crisp white button down full sleeve shirts
Blue jeans
Dark pants and trousers
Flat footwear
Oversized sunglasses, very retro style like Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O
Sweaters and cardigans, but nothing too fitted or tight
Cropped, short blazers
Large shoulder bags
Pastel colors, light and muted, for casuals
Solid colors, prints and stripes are out
Beret hats
Long beaded necklaces
Dangling bohemian earrings

The key to looking just fashionably right this season is to layer all of the above. Start with jeans and white shirt. Add a layer of wool with a belted cardigan which you keep semi closed. Wear either a blazer or coat. Step into some non fussy slip on shoes. Now accessorize with the large sunglasses, beads and earrings. Voila youre the epitome of relaxed spring chic.
